Some reflections from past hosts:

We have hosted hundreds of events during my 11 years at Noble Horizons, and I can honestly say that no program has ever elicited such joy and gratitude from the audience.  The standing room only crowd ranged in age from 14-90+ and laughed non-stop while learning philosophy the Klein/Cathcart way! Klein and Cathcart are incredibly smart men who are also extremely funny, highly entertaining and utterly charming!

We thoroughly enjoyed Tom and Dan's visit to Eastern Kentucky University. They charmed students and faculty alike. They packed our auditorium with people and filled it with laughter in ways I'd never experienced before. Long after they'd gone, students were still expressing interest in majoring in Philosophy as a result of having attended Cathcart and Klein's life-changing presentation on "The Beauty of Philosophy through Jokes."

Dan Klein and Tom Cathcart had our students on the edge of their seats. Sure, students were laughing at the jokes, but I also heard them in classrooms and hallways talking about philosophy long afterwards. Kudos to Dan and Tom for demonstrating the power of humor to teach.

Tom Cathcart and Danny Klein have performed separately and together at three GoldLab Symposia – see them at www.goldlabfoundation.org.  Tom and Danny are remarkable.  They provide “laugh out loud” jokes and manage to couple humor with real philosophical lessons for life. Nothing is better than learning such lessons while laughing. When I conjure up their faces, my face contorts into a huge smile, with gratitude for their zaniness and human warmth.  One cannot spend enough time with these two wonderful people.

We first saw Danny and Tom speak at the Jewish Community Center in Margate, NJ and invited them to our first forum, “Can Humor Save the World?” Their wit, intelligence and joke telling ability helped to bring philosophers alive through their humor. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the weekend with Cathcart and Klein.
